THE GRIPPING CONVERSATION CONTINUES
In 2015, Netflix's Making A Murderer gripped the world with its tale of love, murder and possible wrongful conviction. Chronicling the trials of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, both Manitowoc County, Wisonsin residents tangled up in a series of murder trials, the fascinating docu-series sparked a nationwide conversation about the pitfalls of the US justice system and sparked an ongoing debate revolving around one question - did he do it?
Following the ten-years-in-the-making-show's smash hit popularity, Steven Avery's defense lawyers Dean Strang and Jerry Buting headed out across the world to host a series of moderated discussions about the case and the ins and outs of the law and how it applied, or didn't, to the head-scratching conundrum of who killed Theresa Halbach. Now Professors of Law Laura Nirider and Steven Drizin are picking up where they left off in the wake of new revelations in 2018's season two of Making A Murderer, bringing their wisdom to 'in conversation style' events that tackle topics like false confessions and interrogation tactics, as well as issues raised in the second season.
