ENTERTAINING SHOW

From beginning to end the play was entertaining. The music was wonderful and surreal. It told a wonderful story of how life can be with people who care and have the love of a God! Wonderful. Highly recommend for someone planning a great night in Richmond.

Hands up go for this play! We laughed and sang song with strangers, what a good feeling. Went with my sister and mother and can not wait to see another one of his plays. Him and his case has true talent.

GREAT NIGHT

My girlfriend took me to my first play ever and it was amazing. I agree with the other reviewer that the story line was all over the place. However, the play kept us in tears! We enjoyed all the cast members and Nephew Tommy was hilarious!

ENTERTAINING!!!!

Great play! A great way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Nephew Tommy & the little person stole the show. The singing was amazing. Johnny Gill was unable to attend, because of a family emergency, however his understudy was great. My hubby & I had great seats, orchestra row J, seats 1 & 3. Of course there is always room for writing improvements and I recommend having programs to distribute. But, the laughter, singing, being able to see stars that have been out the lime light for years, but still have powerful voices was very refreshing. I recommend this play to most but some scenes are not good for adolescents.

OK NIGHT OUT

Cast was amazing! Great line up of stars. Music was tip-top. However the writing could use more thought. Story line was all over the place with no clear direction. Great minds will be bored and unentertained. Other than a few good laughs, I would dare say basic. With some honest critiques they may just tweak this to perfection.

CHAOTIC AND CONFUSING

The stage play "Mommas' Boy" was chaotic, confusing, and all over the place!!! The storyline left a lot to be desired. A lot of the dialogue was unnecessary and it did not captivate my attention as it should have. In fact I found myself at one point "day- dreaming" about what I was going to have for breakfast the next morning. The singing was good(especially Anthony Brown) but that was the only redeeming factor.

EMBARRASSINGLY OFFENSIVE

I was treated to the show by a friend and sadly, neither of us had any idea how offensive, homophobic and transphobic it would be. As a community, we can and should be better than this. To be honest, even if it hadn't been offensive, the most it would have yielded is two stars - terrible writing/dialogue and weak story line. Unless you are a very conservative, homophobic person with very basic taste in entertainment, don't bother.
